Mission Statement
“A student group with the purpose of increasing awareness about Diabetes among students on the University of Michigan campus, forming support networks for students with Diabetes and raising funds to contribute to the effort to find a cure.”

Interested in Joining?
Students for Diabetes holds monthly mass meetings, as well as specific meetings revolving around our campus events. If you are passionate about the fight against diabetes and would like to contribute please email sda-eboard@umich.edu for more information and meeting details.

SDA is now a chapter of the College Diabetes Network.

What is CDN?

“CDN is a a 501c3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to empower and improve the lives of students living with Type 1 diabetes through peer support and access to information and resources.”

    I was recently diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 32 and I’m looking to find more support groups—the only ones I have found are for much older people with Type 2!!

    I used to live in Ann Arbor. My two sons were born ar the U of M. Now one of them have typ 1 diabetes. I am happy to see this kind of group is operation in Ann Arbor. Dont forget World Diabetes Day November 14th!

  3. JDRF is not just for juveniles! We now have an Adult type 1 Toolkit, online programs for adults at every stage of their diagnosis (such as gestational, college, extreme sports, etc) and a social blog called Juvenation.
